Hands-free vehicle access

Vehicle access control systems can be very inconvenient because they use close-range identification methods such as swipe cards, manual keypads or short-range RFID technologies.

TagMaster's long-range solution allows for automatic vehicle identification at distances up to 10m (33ft), facilitating hands-free access at speed. The system:

Vehicle access ID-tags

When a vehicle approaches a barrier or gate, the TagMaster Reader identifies a small ID-tag which is fixed inside the vehicle's windscreen.

Each ID-tag contains a unique ID number which, once read, is compared against a database of approved holders.

Long-range vehicle access

TagMaster has the most highly developed technology available for long-range vehicle access applications. Our new generation (GEN4) platform incorporates the latest innovations in RFID technology, ensuring best-of-breed performance, with low total cost of ownership.

2.45GHz RFID technology

Our technology works at the 2.45GHz frequency band, with inherent benefits for vehicle access applications, as opposed to lower frequencies such as UHF. The typical qualities of 2.45GHz RFID technology are:

• It is highly directional and clearly defines the reading lobe, ensuring no misreads
• A dense reading area eliminates 'black spots'
• ID-tags can be read at high speed
• Low power output means no need for a site licence

Universal mounting kit for readers

For vehicle access control applications, the ID-tag is preferably mounted in an ID-tag holder (WinFix) mounted inside the car's windscreen. When the ID-tag is not in use, it can easily be removed from the WinFix holder and brought with you.

Readers are preferably mounded using our universal mounting kit (UMK). The UMK includes brackets for both pole and wall (flat surface) mounting of the LR-series Readers. The UMK is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The brackets allow for easy adjustment of the reader.
