Urbaco was founded in 1985 and is known all over the world for having invented the retractable bollard. It is a leader in the market for access-control systems that use retractable bollards.

Retractable bollards for town centres

Preserving the comfort and quality of life in the determined areas, respecting aesthetics of historical town centre, around heritage monuments and ensuring pedestrian safety has become a major concern when it comes to city development.

Our flagship product, the Generation 6 retractable bollard, is made up of three elements: case, cover and bollard head, each being cast into one single piece, made of nodular cast-iron, and free of any parts that could wear down (an Urbaco Monobloc patent). The G6 bollard is available in both hydraulic and pneumatic power-drive versions, in five elegant cast-iron or stainless-steel designs, some with an illuminated ring range.

Access controllers for urban bollards

Urbaco access controllers for urban bollards allow management and operation of several bollards simultaneously or singularly. They fit perfectly with urban settings and can be integrated with all necessary extension in terms of control and secure devices (intercoms, remote controls, proximity cards and coded keypads).

Software for control of retractable bollards

SYGMA II software for control of retractable bollards is the access-control system for centralising your access control. It allows global management of remote devices (bollards, automated operators, cards, videos and intercoms).

High-security bollards

Engineered to ensure access security against ram-raid vehicles, our hydraulically operated high-security bollards met stringent requirements when it comes to controlling access and withstanding collision impacts.

Private access / parking management bollards

Our Luxor private access / parking management bollards are ideal for large-volume, private user applications and for administration settings. An acoustic warning device notifies traffic that the pneumatic Luxor bollard is moving to prevent collision with unsuspecting pedestrians and bicycles riders.

Mechanical bollards

Mechanical bollards are a simple, economical and effective way of managing access ways that are only occasionally opened. The mechanical bollard uses a gas spring to ease the handling. A key unlocks the mechanism and raises the bollard.

Fixed bollards and posts

Urbaco also produces a large range of fixed bollards and posts that fit with the urban landscape. They are available in five elegant cast-iron or stainless-steel designs.
