EIS Electronic Integrated Systems - Sensor-Based Electronic Systems for Traffic ManagementEIS Electronic Integrated Systems was established in Toronto, Canada in 1989. As a systems house specializing in sophisticated signal processing and radar detection, EIS develops and manufactures sensor-based electronic systems for traffic management. RTMS™ - RADAR-BASED TRAFFIC SENSORSThe company's flagship product, RTMS™, is the leading radar-based traffic sensor in the world. RTMS is a field-proven vehicle detector capable of providing highly-accurate and reliable volume, occupancy, speed and six classifications in up to eight lanes. Over 15,000 RTMS radar detection units are deployed in more than 40 countries worldwide - on highways, bridges, tunnels and urban arterials - providing advanced traffic management and information. TRAFFIC COUNTINGIn addition to the RTMS, EIS also offers cost-effective turnkey solutions for traffic counting. The EIS Traffic Reporter™ is an enterprise-level traffic counting solution based upon cost-effective, non-intrusive, self-contained traffic counting stations powered by AC, solar energy or batteries. These traffic counters can be outfitted with a cellular, land-line, or dial up modem communication. The easily-relocating traffic counting stations are ideal for both temporary and permanent traffic counting. Each station has a built-in storage capacity of up to 30 weeks of traffic data on eight lanes of traffic at five minute intervals, including volume, occupancy, speed and six classifications. The Traffic Reporter™ PC-based software can automatically download stored data from hundreds of stations, and generate reports in user-defined formats and over 20 different statistic analyses on archived data. REAL-TIME TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTION AND TRAFFIC CORRIDOR MANAGEMENTThe EIS Wide Area Traffic Event Reporting (WATER) solution is an enterprise-level advanced traffic data collection solution. It concentrates real-time traffic data from over 1,000 traffic monitoring stations into a single SQL database. Information is efficiently concentrated and transported - either by DSS modems via cluster hubs, or by the Internet via cellular, TCP/IP or land-line modems - to the Traffic Operations Center (TOC). The SQL server makes for easy data mining, speed-map generation and analysis, such as is required in corridor traffic management. TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT AND INCIDENT DETECTIONThe EIS Freeway Traffic Monitoring Systems (FTMS) is based on multiple RTMS vehicle detection stations installed on roadside poles in a side-fired configuration. Each delivers data every 30 seconds using wireless, Ethernet (TCP/IP), or land-line modems. At the TOC, the PC-based FTMS software provides actionable alarms with fast reaction and a low false-alarm rate. It facilitates efficient incident management by TOC personnel through integration with a CCTV verification system. The system is quickly deployed on existing structures with no traffic disruptions. It is fully programmable and scalable to cover up to 1,000 stations. URBAN TRAFFIC DETECTORSThe EIS SPIDER combines the advantages of the RTMS radar and robust Spread Spectrum radio modems into a seamless, simple, radar detection solution. It can quickly reduce queues by adding advanced mid-block detection to any signalized traffic control system. The SPIDER hub (in the controller cabinet) collects data from up to eight remote wireless RTMS radar detectors, eliminating the need for trenching and digging fixed communication lines. SPIDER delivers up to 32 contact pairs to the controller, representing individual detection zones that are more than 1km away from the intersection. SPIDER is the ideal solution for improving the operation of a single intersection or for providing the main detection in large adaptive traffic control systems such as SCOOT. WARNING AND SAFETY SYSTEMSThe EIS Node Event Warning System (NEWS) is a quick deployment safety solution for real-time warning on traffic events that require immediate response (such as long queues behind blind corners, wrong way vehicles and off-ramp spillback). It combines wireless RTMS radar sensors and an in-field programmable NEWS hub processor capable of detecting and reporting the occurrence of up to 16 user-defined events. Warning outputs are selectable - contact closure, serial message or email notifications through the TOC PC NEWS software.
