Nortech Detection Pty Ltd is the exhibition sponsor for the 2nd Annual Road and Transport Engineering Conference event, which takes place in Brisbane, Australia from 25 November to 27 November 2009.
This conference is dedicated to identifying methods of procurement and financing of major motorways projects. It will also provide an opportunity for feedback from current Queensland ITS projects including the Gateway Upgrade, Airport Link and the Darra to Springfield Transport Corridor projects.
Guest speakers will be from the department of transport and main roads, Queensland Motorways and the major contractors involved in these projects. Topics covered in technical presentations will include intelligent transport systems (ITS) free-flowing tolling technologies.
Nortech Detection have supplied vehicle detection systems and vehicle traffic classifiers for a number of completed and current motorways projects in Queensland. The Nortech product range is approved for use in STREAMS motorways systems and forms an integral part of the ITS infrastructure in these state-of-the-art motorways projects.
Nortech will exhibit the successful IR100 traffic monitoring outstation, the latest IDRIS-powered vehicle classifiers and a range of specialised vehicle detection for traffic applications.
The IDR112 Vehicle Classifier is a recent development from Nortech resulting from the combination of the latest vehicle detector hardware from Nortech and sophisticated software known as IDRIS from Diamond Consulting.
The classifier is able to classify traffic into 12 different vehicle types in accordance with Austroads requirements, based on vehicle lengths and axle arrangements. This equipment is unique due to the high classification accuracy and axle detection being derived from inductive loops without the need for piezo axle detection.
