SENSOR LINE is the world's first address for Fiber Optic (FO) load sensors in road, railroad and airport traffic. SENSOR LINE's proprietary FO technology ensures a unique performance for axle detection regardless of whether the installations are performed in slots, frames or on the road surface. The FO traffic sensors work for any vehicle speed, in any pavement and with the highest reliability, accuracy and durability. SENSOR LINE's traffic sensors are highly elastic and thus adapt perfectly to any change of road conditions. FO traffic sensors, available in any sensor and cable lengths, work over a wider range of speeds than any other axle sensors. They have a static response, i.e. they detect stationary loads on the sensor. Furthermore, SENSOR LINE axle sensors deliver exceptionally clean signals, uninfluenced from road noise and unaffected by electromagnetic interference. SPT / SPZ FIBER OPTIC TRAFFIC SENSORSSlot installations of our SPT / SPT FO sensors are the most economic way for superior axle detection. SPT sensors are spliceless with their feeder length being limited to 3m. SPZ sensors are available with standard cables up to 100m. Properly installed in our resin family SL CAST-80 / 90, those sensors work with the highest accuracy and for an unlimited number of axle loads. FIBER OPTIC TREADLE STRIPSSENSOR LINE's FO sensors are also available as treadle strips and can be cast in any shape for treadle replacements. Slot installations are cumbersome at low temperatures, so interchangeable treadle strips are an interesting option. FO treadles work as perfect switches for any speed and with a durability a few times higher than all other state-of-the-art treadle technologies. FIBER OPTIC TREADLE INSERTSSENSOR LINE's treadle inserts fit well in TRMI frames and are available upon customer request as two to four channel versions. The sensors are firmly embedded in the plastic insert in order to avoid bouncing. The surface generated in the lab guarantees that the tires always deform the sensors sufficiently, thus resulting in 100% detection accuracy. SURFACE-MOUNTED FIBER OPTIC SENSORSEspecially for dual lane traffic data acquisition, these sensors are the best option. A steel-enforced plastic sensor base allows insertion of long sensors for independent monitoring of two lanes. The sensor design avoids any cross-talk and provides reliable lane selective axle information. OPTICAL TRANSMITTANCE ANALYZERSSENSOR LINE's Optical Transmittance Analyzers MA-110 and MD-220 operate FO traffic sensors in a wide dynamic range and free from any adjustment. The MA-110 series is a single-channel interface ideally suited for axle detection, counting and speed measurement. It generates digital trigger outputs and analogous signals for further signal processing. The MD-220 series is a micro controller-based interface and operates two FO traffic sensors down to zero speed. This interface is specially suited for toll applications. The RS 232 interface facilitates system integration and supports diagnostics with our VIEW220 signal viewing software. The housed MD-220 series meets the European CE Standard. EMBEDDING RESINSL CAST 80 / 90 resin family is a specially designed embedding material for FO sensors. A high degree of crosslinking guarantees high elasticity along with sufficient hardness for sensor protection, thus ensuring fast response and recovery times. With the slots properly cleaned, the resin sticks very well to every kind of pavement. SENSOR LINE's Fiber Optic Traffic Sensors play an important role in toll applications because of their longevity and accuracy. Their static response also simplifies dual tire detection often required in toll classification schemes. Whenever it comes to reliable and accurate axle detection, SENSOR LINE's FO sensors are the best choice. AUTOMATIC VEHICLE DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATIONCLASSAX is Sensor Line's newest automatic vehicle detection system. CLASSAX is unique in that vehicle class characteristics are determined by a teach-in process utilizing real traffic; no initial inquiry of vehicle data is necessary. The customer can define any set of vehicle classes desired: if they are only indicated by different vehicle characteristics the system will identify them faithfully. The effort added to the system price by this teach-in process is negligible compared to what setting up a traditional custom AVC system requires. Originally intended to be just an AVC system especially suitable for extremely slow moving traffic, CLASSAX can bring about much more than this. Being an example of a whole that is more than the sum of its parts, it constitutes an instrument of outstanding versatility. Possible applications include vehicle detection, classification and counting, axle counting, traffic statistics, traffic monitoring and control, vehicle recognition and weigh-in-motion.
