POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS

DataCollect's Digital Safety Display (DSD) is a lightweight portable road safety sign used to reinforce safety and education within our communities. Its features include:

This Speed Indication Display (SID) is affectionately known as Smiley SID. It presents a serious message in a friendly way, thus encouraging drivers to be responsible when it comes to speeding. The DSD puts social pressure on drivers to decrease speed when required.

The sign is extremely versatile and can be deployed in minutes. It comes complete with its own tripod or optional lamppost fixing, sign surround, charger, and user guide. Supplied with Excel™ Speed Report data analysis software for quick and easy report generation, the DSD comes as a complete ready-to-deploy unit.

ENCOURAGING SPEED AWARENESS IN A FRIENDLY WAY

In safety mode, the DSD displays the speed of approaching vehicles, alternating with either a happy or sad face depending on preset speed limit.

Smiley SID in this mode is best used as part of a campaign at schools or speed sensitive areas where positive driver feedback can be used to educate and inform drivers.

STANDARD VEHICLE ACTIVATED SIGN

The DSD sign can also operate as a standard Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS). When it is in this mode, the sign flashes the speed of vehicles that approach the sign above the preset speed limit.

As with all options there is an upper speed threshold where speeds are no longer displayed.

REINFORCING NEW SPEED LIMITS

Aimed at reinforcing new speed limit changes or the implementation of 20mph zones, the SID's difference mode can be used as part of a dedicated awareness campaign. Vehicles exceeding the preset speed limit will be informed of their excessive speed.

The difference mode is used in conjunction with the optional "Too Fast" legend.

COVERT MONITORING DEVICE

When used in the covert mode, the DSD becomes a covert monitoring device. With no display active, the unit records the time and speed of approaching vehicles. Data can subsequently be downloaded and compared to that of the active results.

TRAFFICDATA.DE – WEB-BASED REPORTING AND MONITORING SOFTWARE

Trafficdata.de is a traffic data reporting website. It is the ultimate tool to set-up and control a traffic data-monitoring network. The traffic data will be transmitted from each location by GPRS wireless technology to a web based data server.

To generate reports, the user can choose between different tables and graphs and setup and control the traffic data collection products (like the SDR traffic classifier) via the Internet. This software enables the user to control his network of monitoring sites from any PC with Internet access.
