MECHANICAL VARIABLE PRISM SIGNS

When a VMS sign with a reflective surface is required, a mechanical variable prism sign is the solution. This option is safe, reliable, and has the facility to be operated manually in the event of power being lost.

The sign enclosure is a very strong construction made of extruded aluminium profiles, on which no welding is used. As there is no need for either a plastic or a glass front, the reduction of visibility is avoided. Standard reflective materials are used. Visually, the sign is identical to standard road signs, avoiding confusion to drivers. The prism sign has a tried and tested icebreaker function to prevent the build up of ice and snow.

The variable prism sign can be adapted to any desired control systems, such as VMS and LED solutions. Euroskilt also manufactures a large number of illuminated signs and LED lane indicators for tunnel solutions.

COLLISION SAFE SYSTEMS

A new break off plug has been developed, to ensure the ability of the collision safe masts to let the car pass without risk of injuries or death. Cables in a collision safe mast without a correct horizontally working break off plug will break or stop a car at impact and may result in casualty or even fatality. These plugs have horizontal motion release, which will prevent this.

New foundations with battery power supply for mobile collision safe VMS have been developed. These have only 100mm heath to footplate and a total height of 125mm. These solutions include the new break off plug.

ASR SPEED ACTIVATED SPEED BUMPS

This novel traffic safety solution consists of speed bumps that are activated (and raised) only when a car is driving too fast. Our ASR activated speed bumps are suitable as both a speed-assembly mobile unit or as a permanent solution.
