Dorman Varitext is a specialist in the design and manufacture of bespoke electronic display equipment including Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) and Variable Message Signs (VMS).

SPEED LIMIT SIGNS

We offer a full range of speed limit signs in various roundel sizes, with or without the 'slow down' message and LED amber flashing lanterns, as specified in TSRGD 2002.

VEHICLE ACTIVATED WARNING SIGNS

We offer the full range of warning signs and sub plate as specified in TSRGD 2002, including prohibited sub-plates. These displays can sometimes benefit from being dual-legend as locations may require a different warning message at various times of day.

SCHOOL WARNING SIGNS (SWS)

Our school warning signs range from full LED arrays to combinations of flashing ambers and fixed-plate signs. We offer full installation and there is no need to worry about electrical supply as we can offer solar power solutions.

SAFETY CAMERA SIGNS

We have a range of sign solutions ideal for safety camera zones. Displays can incorporate both the safety camera logo and speed limit roundel with multi-digit displays for variant speed restriction zones, these signs can be located in fixed positions or used as a portable unit.

SPEED INDICATION DISPLAYS

We have signs that display the driver's speed only, right through to fully-functional continuous matrix displays that can discriminate between speeding drivers and drivers travelling below the limit, followed by a warning or a positive message respectively. This increases the effectiveness of speed indication displays, having a positive impact on the community.

TRAFFIC CALMING SIGN SPECIFICATIONS

Our signs are designed and manufactured to be low maintenance, using LED technology with high optical performance. The displays are mounted within a purpose-built fabricated enclosure incorporating a 5mm polycarbonate anti-vandal window. We offer fixed LED arrays through to fully-functional continuous matrix displays, which can be activated using microwave vehicle detectors or loop detectors, and can be used in conjunction with 365-day programmable timers.

We can provide skilled, professional advice and guidance to ensure that our clients achieve effective schemes at the best value. We can install and service your signs, and repair and maintain other manufacturers' signs, providing you with just one supplier.

ALTERNATIVE POWER SUPPLIES

Our variable message signs can be powered using solar, wind, battery or fuel-cell technology. If there is a location without mains power, an eco-friendly site, or if the costs of electricity are prohibitive then one of our alternative power supplies could be the ideal solution. Although a site survey is essential when considering one of these options, we will carry this out free of charge.

BESPOKE OPERATIONAL TRAFFIC SIGNS

All our designs are modular, so we are able to choose modules from our approved range to provide bespoke solutions at short notice as required. We have the ability to design signs that can activate in a variety of ways such as wide vehicles, high vehicles and queue warning signs.
