Gibraltar is a leading provider of high-tension cable barriers and wire rope fences, designed to contain and redirect vehicles away from road hazards.

Fully tested high-tension cable barriers for alongside highways

Gibraltar provides EN 1317 H1-W5-rated cable barrier products, as well as an H2 approved system for use internationally. The system has also been tested successfully, with high-speed tests at 120km / h.

Full-scale vehicle crash / impact testing has been completed to evaluate the safety performance of Gibraltar TL-3, TL-4, and TL-4 (four cable) longitudinal cable barriers. All testing procedures were conducted in accordance with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 350 and EN 1317-2 requirements.

Cost-effective three-cable high-tension barriers for road-traffic environments

The Gibraltar TL-3 and TL-4 cable barrier consists of a three-cable, high-tension cable barrier, providing a cost-effective solution designed to contain and divert vehicles away from hazards.

The Gibraltar TL-3 and TL-4 three cable barrier systems have been high-speed crash-tested at speeds of up to 120km / h. Additional special features include:

  • FHWA acceptance
  • Tested NCHRP report 350
  • Up to 30ft (9m) post-spacing based on deflection
  • Driven or socketed posts
  • Optional W-Beam transition
  • Optional driven anchor
  • EN 1317 H1 – W5 rated working width
  • NCHRP 350 approved terminal anchorage
  • Successfully H2 tested 13,000kg bus at 70km / h

The TL-3 is designed to contain smaller cars, up to 3,600kg pickup trucks. The TL-4 is designed to contain vehicles including up to 8,200kg cargo trucks, and can also contain a 10,000kg cargo truck according to EN1317 H1 specifications.

Economical four-cable barriers for road hazard-avoidance

The TL-4 is a four-cable, high-tension barrier. The TL-4 is an economical solution designed to contain and redirect road vehicles away from hazards.

Special features of the Gibraltar Test Level 4 – four cable barrier systems include:

  • 4:1 slope application
  • Up to 30ft (9m) post spacing based on deflection
  • Driven or socketed posts
  • Optional W-Beam transition

  • EN 1317 H1 – W5-rated working width

  • TRL acceptance
  • NCHRP 350 approved terminal anchorage

The TL-4-four cable system is capable of containing anything from small cars up to 8,200kg cargo trucks, and can contain vehicles up to 10,000kg cargo trucks according to EN1317 H1 specifications.
