PTV AG announces a new release of the PTV technology platform. New features extend and improve the platform in terms of development and data management functionalities. The PTV MobilityPlatform allows users to develop a wide range of mobility and telematics services - from simple city map services to online dealer locators and complex call centre systems.
The PTV MobilityPlatform is a modular and open software that includes all components for geocoding, map display, radius search and route planning. It also provides standard WebServices interfaces which allow the user to easily develop and implement mobility and telematics services. Automobile manufacturers, mobile network operators and public institutions as well as webportal operators and other service providers count among the numerous customers. Global players like Audi, T-Com, O2, Dresdner Bank or Siemens develop their applications for online portals and mobile devices on the basis of the PTV technology platform.
The release 3.5 includes new features which considerably extend the data management functionalities. This also means that data management becomes much easier. The new BusinessManagement Service provides users with online data access throughout the day. In addition, they can generate and analyse access or software performance statistics.
POI handling has also been improved. Users can now easily change or add POI data themselves, for example changing opening hours for a branch locator. The release 3.5 updates these changes on a daily basis and confirms the new settings by e-mail. A new database mechanism helps to speed up the search and display of POI data.
The PTV MobilityPlatform can now also display the new AJAX maps. The AJAX technology provides faster map displays and the user benefits from many interactive features, such as seamless zooming or panning. PTV's AJAX maps allow providers to create maps according to their needs, for example by using their corporate design. It is also possible to include icons or freely selectable points and lines on a map, or other map sources, such as aerial or satellite images. In addition to the AJAX maps, the technology platform also uses the faster vector maps and conventional raster maps.
