Simtra AeroTech - PathPlanner R4 Vehicle-Turn Simulation Software

Simtra is the creator of the technically advanced yet easy to use PathPlanner R4, vehicle turn and swept path simulation software. It also supplies the market with the world-leading airport simulation software PathPlanner A5 and the excellent aircraft library tool Aircraft Data viewer. With customers in over 40 countries, Simtra is a truly global company but with a personal touch.

CAD-based vehicle turn software

PathPlanner R4 is the advanced yet easy-to-use CAD-based vehicle turn software. It helps assess layout and space requirements for intersections, roundabouts, bus terminals, parking facilities, loading bays and more.

National vehicle libraries

The software contains national standard vehicle libraries for many countries. In addition, special vehicle types are available and custom vehicles or vehicle combinations can be created.

Vehicle turn and swept-path simulation software

PathPlanner R4 consists of two versions, the Pro and the Standard version. The Standard version is the foundation for every PathPlanner R4 license. It offers all technical tools for accurate vehicle turn and swept path simulation. A library with standard road design vehicles from the US (AASHTO and CALTRANS) and many other countries is inclusive. In addition, special vehicles such as a large crane with ten-steered wheels and seaport truck and trailers are available. A vehicle manager allows creating or modifying vehicles and (semi-)trailers.

The Pro version offers impressive visualization and animation features. Vehicles can be colored with a solid fill to enhance appearance in the drawing. Using the presentation manager the various simulations can be scheduled with linked start and stop times. Static appearance of the vehicle can be displayed as well. Presentations can be stored in the PathPlanner administration tool and edited if required. The duration of the presentation can be set in relation to the real elapsed time. A presentation consisting of one or multiple simulations can be recorded in an AVI file that can be played back on any PC.

Vertical clearance checking software

The Pro version offers the possibility to check vertical clearances. The side view simulation makes it possible to check headroom and ground clearances. The upper swept path displays clearly if any height problems can be expected, for example in a low ceiling parking garage. The lower swept path verifies whether vehicles with a long wheelbase or little ground clearance are able to drive certain ramps or road sections without getting stuck.

Adaptable vehicle turn and swept-path simulation software

PathPlanner R4 is available as stand-alone license or server license with defined number of concurrent users. The software is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, and Vista (32-bit) and Windows Server (32-bit) 2000 and later.

PathPlanner R4 works as an application in the AutoCAD® series of products (except LT) from version 2000 upwards and MicroStation® versions V8.1, V8 2004 (V8.5), and XM.

As Autodesk® authorized developer and Bentley® technology partner, Simtra ensures seamless integration in the respective CAD platforms and compatibility with the latest versions on the market.
