PATHPLANNER R3 - CAD TOOL WITH SIMULATION TECHNOLOGY

PathPlanner R3 is an application for AutoCAD® and MicroStation®. It contains the same advanced simulation technology as PathPlanner A5, the leading software for airport design. It guarantees accurate swept path calculation, even of the most complex vehicle manoeuvre. PathPlanner R3 is the only vehicle turn software that accurately displays and calculates the path of a reversing trailer combination.

PathPlanner R3 consists of two modules, the base module (mandatory) and the presentation module.

VEHICLE LIBRARY AND MANAGER

The base module is the foundation for every PathPlanner R3 licence. It incorporates the national standard vehicle libraries for US (AASHTO), Canada (TAC), UK (FTA), Netherlands (CROW) and countries such as Denmark, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden. A vehicle manager allows the creation of new or modifying existing single vehicles and (semi-) trailer combinations with optional rear steered axles.

VEHICLE MOVEMENT SIMULATION

The heads-up track building to set up a vehicle movement is intuitive and provides instant results. Simply drag the vehicle to the desired location, target existing lines or use the automatic follow function to accurately trace lines. Both forward and reverse movements can be simulated, even in the same manoeuvre. Speed and steering characteristics are taken into account.

VEHICLE SWEPT PATH SIMULATION

The software offers flexible plot setup of vehicle body, vehicle swept path and wheel track surface. Swept path areas are easily hatched to enhance the appearance of the simulation. Animations of the movement can be viewed in your CAD program, in real-time or other speeds.

A technical report of a simulation can be generated and viewed in Microsoft® Word. The report includes an image of the simulation, a steering angle diagram and technical data. Simulations can be saved, retrieved, hidden, erased and grouped, keeping you in control of your work.

PRESENTATION MODULE FOR SIMULATION VISUALISATION

The presentation module offers solid fill of vehicles. Single or multiple simulation sessions can be recorded in an AVI file that can be played back on any PC. It is very easy to include any number of simulations, define separate start times and static periods and select (real-time) animation speed.

The AVI created with the presentation module is a great way to present technical results in a convincing way to higher management or clients. It can also be used for capacity analyses in congested traffic situations.
