FAAC - Car-Park Access and Control Systems

Since 1965 FAAC Group has been one of the world's leading manufacturers of vehicle-access automation and control solutions, including systems for vehicle access to car parks. More then 40 years' knowledge of the market, along with a strong R&D tradition, allows FAAC to provide widely recognised reliable and cutting-edge products for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Moreover, a worldwide sales network enables FAAC to be close to its customers and meet all their needs, always and everywhere.

Flat surface or multi-storey car-park control system

FAAC's Paragon car-park control system allows the control of a flat surface or multi-storey car park, enabling access to the parking area, control of vehicular flows, and manual or automatic toll collection while providing all operating, accounting and administrative reports required.

Car-park management system

The Paragon system meets all the requirements of a professional and innovative modern car-park management system. It is characterised by both high flexibility for meeting the most different requirements, and by a modular approach that enables it to be scaled up according to the customer's needs.

It is a particularly powerful and user-friendly system that, thanks to its 'engine' being based on a SQL database, is able to provide the car park's manager with the necessary data to optimise operating costs and improve the service supplied.

Paragon is based on a read/write barcode technology that allows the system to have a unique support from entry to exit, even in the case of occasional network failures. The ticket/cards handling device is common to all equipment: the entry system, the exit system, and both manual and automatic pay stations.

The Paragon system allows the complete management of entry/exit lanes, entire site control, automatic fee collection at manned or automatic pay stations, and the continuous update of occupancy status in real-time.

Thanks to an extremely flexible interface structure, the system also integrates a long-range reader for more comfortable and faster transits for frequent users such as employers, residents, etc.

Medium-sized car park control system

The Parklite system has been conceived to fulfil most of the needs of medium-sized car parks. The system has been in existence for more than 15 years, and now represents an excellent control system for car parks of this size.

Parklite is able to cover many car park configurations, from the simplest (with a manually operated exit) to the most sophisticated (with decentralised, manually operated cashiers as well as fully automatic pay stations, to allow unattended car park management).

Ticket-issuing system for car parks

Based on barcode technology, tickets are cut from a white, neutral, thermal paper roll with high capacity, which can provide up to 6,000 tickets with a paper thickness of 80g/m².

Tickets can be customised by software using free messages that are easily changed by customers, while cards are also available as passive proximity technology RFID solutions. These systems ensure fast and convenient vehicular access to car parks.

Some components of the Parklite system are the same as those used in the Paragon system, in order to ensure a cost-effective approach and system modularity.

Parklite has been installed in many countries all over the world, and the customer interface is available in a range of languages including Italian, French, Spanish, English, German, Dutch, Cyrillic, Romanian and Turkish.

Traffic barriers for car parks

FAAC's 620 model traffic barriers are used in all FAAC parking solutions.

Barriers are a very crucial point of parking technology since they are the component that suffers the most stress when operated, in any environmental conditions.

FAAC barriers are based on hydraulic technology, ensuring very high performance, reliability, and very long product life. Unlike electro-mechanical barriers, hydraulic barriers have fewer gears, and the wear is considerably reduced by the use of a fluid (oil) as a lubricant.

620 barriers are currently installed in all old and new-generation FAAC parking systems, and thousands are installed on many toll motorways in Italy and abroad, working every day in heavy-duty conditions.
