Metric Group - Pay and Display Machines

Metric are widely recognised as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pay and display machines, with a reputation for quality and reliability that is second to none.

Their new Aura machine made its world debut at Intertraffic 2006 in Amsterdam in April this year. Following Amsterdam, the Aura went to Parkex at Earls Court in London the same month and, from there, to IPI’s Growth 2006 Annual Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, in May.

STATE-OF-THE-ART PAY AND DISPLAY SYSTEMS

The Aura offers state-of-the-art technology which will be invaluable in helping to manage parking operations. The new generation of machine has been designed to give reliability, ease of use and simple maintenance – even in the most demanding of environments.

The Aura also incorporates technology which facilitates an advanced electronic locking system that should more than satisfy any customer’s security concerns.

Communications options include GSM, GPRS, GPS and WiFi. Metric's pay and display machines are fully RoHs compliant and have been approved by the British Council of Disabled People (BCODP) to meet the new Disability Discrimination Act regulations.

Metric's Aslan back office software is fully compatible with the new Aura pay and display system.

SOLAR POWERED PAY AND DISPLAY SYSTEMS

Aura's power supply options include mains, solar and battery which all benefit from a new and advanced electronic power consumption module. In today's modern world, solar power has rapidly become one of the most popular power sources in the parking industry with many authorities specifically making this mandatory in all tender specifications.

USER FRIENDLY PAY-ON-FOOT SYSTEM WITH PAYMENT OPTIONS

Metric's complete pay-on-foot system comprises an entry terminal for ticket issuing, an exit terminal including ticket reader, barriers and a pay station. The advantages for the end user include:

  • Easy to read display
  • User friendly interface
  • Up to seven available languages
  • Payment options - by coin, banknote or card
  • Optional video monitoring link

The functions available for the parking operator are:

  • Accurate change counting
  • Transaction reporting
  • Back-office management software
  • Direct manager to customer communications link
  • Barcode encryption.

VEHICLE PARKING SOLUTIONS AND PAYMENT OPTIONS

The Accent range of pay and display machines, with its proven track record, is the result of over 30 years’ experience in the field of vehicle parking applications. The Accent system is noted for its robust design and modular component flexibility with twin printer option. Payment methods include coin, card and keypad options. The Accent also offers a help point facility.

The Accent was chosen a few years ago as an ideal payment option for the London congestion charge, and is also as a Roadside Ticket Machine (RTM) for London Bus. Over 1,300 Accent systems have been installed as RTMs to date.
