The Parkmobile Group is an international company specialising in the development and implementation of innovative parking solutions, with subsidiaries in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Spain. In addition, we are in the process of establishing subsidiaries in Greece and the Middle East.

The hardware platforms and software systems used by the Parkmobile systems are owned by the Parkmobile Group and are managed by the companies wholly owned by the Group.

The development and maintenance of our systems are carried out under our own management in order to provide our clients with the best and most rapid service possible, and to ensure fast and high quality responses to all development and enhancement needs.

In the Netherlands, our cashless mobile phone parking solution has been installed in major cities such as Rotterdam, The Hague, Haarlem and Groningen since 2000, and will be operational in Amsterdam from April 2006.

We have been operating in the UK since 2002 with installations in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Hammersmith, Fulham and Camden, as well as Bath, and North East Somerset and South West Trains stations in Andover and Fleet.

In October 2004, Parkmobile was awarded the prestigious CNET Networks award for the mobile product or initiative of the year.

In January 2006, the municipality of Athens awarded Parkmobile a five year contract to provide a total parking solution including the installation and maintenance of all parking signage and the management of all parking payments, for the whole of Athens.

PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID) TECHNOLOGY

The core of the Parkmobile system is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) transponder card, which prevents any form of permit fraud. Traditional paper permits, with a hologram or barcode sticker, are simply replaced with a transponder card, which sits behind the car windscreen.

The transponder card can contain any type or combination of permit information. Enforcement can easily be carried out with hand-held RFID terminals (with a GPRS connection) to check the status of the permit online. The system can also be integrated with penalty charge notice databases.

FULLY WEB-ENABLED E-PERMITS

This e-permit management system allows the applicants to apply for any type of permit online over the internet. Existing permit holders can change or renew their permits themselves via their own personal web pages, or they can submit a request for a termination and refund. E-visitor permits replace existing systems for visitor parking with better and more accessible services for residents and their visitors. The system also allows for different online payment options.

The status of permit applications can be tracked online, and applicants can communicate directly with the council officer handling the application. The system links to the back-office systems for parking shops and other departments in the council. A management information system completes the system, which can be seamlessly linked to any financial information system.

ON-STREET PAY & DISPLAY PARKING

Another advantage of Parkmobile's electronic parking management system is that it can be extended with additional modules to enable cashless GSM on-street parking, ticketless car parks and hardware and software for on-street enforcement.

With the on-street parking system, motorists pay for the exact time they are parked, to the minute rather than the hour, removing the frustration of overpaying to avoid parking fines and needing the exact change for the machine. All motorists have to do is make a short call to initialise the charges once they have parked and call again to terminate the charges when leaving the car park.
