Parkeon

Parkeon - Pay and Display Multi-Space Parking Meters and Systems

Formerly known as Schlumberger e-City, Parkeon has been at the forefront of the parking space management solutions industry since the 1970s. With an installed base in excess of 130,000 multi-space pay and display meters, the company's parking machines are a familiar sight in 3,000 cities across 40 countries. Its parking payment systems control over 3 million parking spaces around the world.

Parkeon continues to lead the way, offering a range of highly secure and stylish pay and display meters that have well-established reputations for security and reliability. Their modular design and construction enables the company to provide operators with solutions that can meet their individual requirements cost-effectively. Because they are easily upgraded, the meters are virtually future-proof, too.

SOLAR-POWERED PARKING METERS

Although autonomous battery- and mains-powered models are available, nearly 90% of customers now opt for solar-powered parking meters. They are fitted with highly efficient solar panels, integrated with the top of the machines, to keep the integral battery fully charged. In fact, solar power is something of a misnomer, since the panels simply require exposure to daylight to operate effectively.

Solar-powered machines are not only environmentally friendly and use a source of free energy, but are also quick and easy to install. Excavations are minimal, as there is no cabling required, and they do not require the involvement of the power companies, which saves time, connection charges and administration.

PARKING PAYMENT USING CASH, SMART AND MAGNETIC STRIPE CARDS AND E-PURSE CARDS

Parkeon pay and display meters can handle coins, bank notes / bills and smart and magnetic stripe cards. Machines equipped with card readers will accept a large number of credit cards. They also support disposable and rechargeable e-purse cards that can be used to create a range of bespoke parking solutions, e.g. residents' parking, retail incentives, designated user groups, etc.

Card schemes are more convenient for drivers, as they do not have to worry about having the right change to pay for parking. They also make life easier for parking operators, as they reduce the volumes of cash that have to be collected, counted and deposited, while minimizing the opportunities for theft and fraud.

The unique coin handling system can cope with up to 14 different coins - so US operators are not restricted to accepting just quarters.

CENTRALIZED MONITORING USING PARKFOLIO™ PARKING SYSTEM SOFTWARE

Parkeon's Parkfolio™ suite of parking system software enables managers to monitor the performance of their pay and display meters on a PC. Each machine may be fitted with a modem to transmit real-time warnings, alarms, financial and statistical data that can be generated by the machines, via a wireless data network.

With immediate notification of events - e.g. a full cash box, low-ticket supply, or an attempted break-in - operators can direct maintenance personnel to attend to a machine immediately. This minimizes machine downtimes, optimizing revenues for operators and providing an efficient service for drivers, which can reduce the level of disputes regarding non-compliance charges.

The management data generated by the meters provides operators with a comprehensive overview of their parking facilities' performance, e.g. arrival times, parking duration, payment method used, etc., which will enable them to review, plan and develop their parking facilities, even posing "what-if" scenarios.

VARIOFLEX™ CAR PARK PAY STATIONS AND BARRIERS

In Europe, Parkeon offers the Varioflex™ range of pay-on-foot systems for off-street parking. This comprises automatic and manual pay stations, car park entry / exit terminals and barriers.

MASS TRANSIT TICKETING SYSTEMS

Over the last 15 years, the company has also developed an installed base of 3,000 transport ticket vending machines for European heavy and light rail, underground and multimodal transport operators.
