SKIDATA introduces a new solution platform for accommodating a variety of parking access and revenue control applications. Visitors to Intertraffic 2006 will be the first to take a look at the results of SKIDATA's new product strategy.
ACCESS FOR THE FUTURE
Many businesses depend on the ability to provide off-street parking as a service for customers and staff. Access specialist SKIDATA caters to a variety of parking market segments ranging from airports, communities and shopping centres, to smaller-scale providers such as hotels or hospitals. To ensure a maximum of flexibility and scalability across these segments, SKIDATA has come up with 'Access for the Future', a new hardware and software platform that will serve as a common system basis for all areas of application, even supporting seamless integration of person access solutions. SKIDATA will showcase the first 'Access for the Future' components, including a new software generation and new pay-on-foot stations, at this year's Intertraffic in Amsterdam (April 4-7). Compatibility with the current product generation will be preserved to allow for a smooth, gradual transition when upgrading.
SCALABILITY MEETS INNOVATION
To accommodate the specific needs of individual operators in the various market segments, the platform products and software applications are fully scalable to the operator's business. The new product generation will also introduce a wide spectrum of technical innovations, including an integrated valet parking solution and support of NFC (Near-Field Communication), the latest in contactless technology.
SKIDATA's NFC ticketing solution, which turns mobile phones into electronic tickets, has been nominated for this year's Intertraffic Innovation Award.
