Intertraffic Amsterdam 2004 a Great Success for Gatsometer

08 June 2004

Amsterdam, 30 March - 2 April - The seventeenth edition of the Intertraffic Amsterdam turned out to be a great success for Gatsometer. The Gatsometer stand was visited by many, particularly by international contacts.

On the first day, many representatives from Gatsometer also came to see the stand. Beforehand, the representatives attended a two-days meeting to see demonstrations and presentations of the new digital Gatsometer equipment. Coming to the Intertraffic was a pleasant opportunity to gather all information they needed to sell Gatsometer’s equipment abroad.

On Wednesday and Thursday, it was very crowded at the stand, and there was a perfect combination of ‘old and new’ technology, attracting many people. The visitors could view the new Digital Radar Computer System installed in the front as well as in the rear of the modern car. In the old-timer ‘Kwik’, visitors could go back in time. They were invited to take place in a Monte Carlo Rally situation and while they enjoyed the ride, a Gatsometer camera made and printed out a digital image, so the visitors could take home their unique photo immediately.

At the stand, the following digital equipment was presented:

Gatso Traffic Camera Digital version
Our digital traffic camera can distinguish 16.7 million colours - more than enough for a faithful reproduction of traffic light red and licence plate yellow. With a resolution of 2 mega pixels, the digital Gatso Traffic Camera takes more than adequate pictures of red light or speeding violations, or both at the same time from multiple lanes. 24hs a day, under all weather conditions, with the correct exposure and lighting every time. With its GLD4-2S loop detectors, the GTC-D registers movement on all lanes. You simply connect the camera to the traffic lights. The GTC-D also functions superbly in places without traffic lights for measuring speed only. The surface-based loop detectors record a series of speed measurements on the passing vehicle. The result is completely reliable.

Digital RCS (Radar Camera System)
A state-of-the-art, high precision, scientific industrial Digital Camera System designed for exclusively for traffic photography. Designed to capture high quality images with superior resolution, in varying environmental and lighting conditions. The clarity of the images is unsurpassed in the industry and includes the capture of characters and numbers on reflective and non-reflective license plates.

Advantages are:
•Measuring of approaching and/or receding traffic
•Usage in different settings (Fixed Installation Post, in a vehicle, on tripod)
•Original violation images and information will not be touched
•Minimizes the time between the violation registration and sending out the ticket
•Fast retracing in files
•For several countries automatic license plate reading is available

Gatsometer Integrated Digital Camera
This camera uses the full 12-bit capability of the Charged Coupled Device-chip (CCD). The 12-bit images are of a superior quality due to the 4,096 different values per channel. The integration of a computer inside the camera facilitates an extremely fast data transmission, which can be transferred through a network cable.

Altogether, the Intertraffic Amsterdam 2004 attracted a record number of 24,109 visitors from no less than 109 different countries. The international character of this leading exhibition for the design, management and maintenance of traffic and transport infrastructure was also reinforced by the fact that a record number of exhibitors (677) originated from 39 countries.
