Hitex Traffic Safety - Road Markings and Safety Materials

At Hitex Traffic Safety Ltd we combine our superior quality finished road marking products and safety materials with an outstanding technical and sales support team. We have an ongoing commitment to improving our materials and road safety through research and development.

Hitex supplies throughout the UK and internationally. Contracting services for all our products are offered through L&R Roadlines, one of the largest and most respected names in the UK highways industry, and Textureprint, our specialist installers of decorative surfacing.

Thermoplastic road markings

Hitex produces a full range of thermoplastic resin-based products for road marking suitable for screed / extrusion, spray and specialist applications.

High friction surfacing (skid-resistant material)

Hitex Type I high friction (skid-resistant) material conforms to Clause 924 of the Specification for Highway Works and is a BBA HAPAS Type 1 (maximum durability) certified material (BBA Certificate No. 04/H088). Our quality management systems are approved to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.

TexBand crack and joint repair banding system

TexBand banding system (BBA Ref:M2/41868) can permanently and economically repair cracks, seams and joints in all black-top highway surfaces. It is designed to have a high SRV and can be used to repair Clause 924 high friction surfacing when combined with calcined bauxite for maximum skid resistance. TexBand can also be used to repair potholes and cracks.

Coloured surfacing

Available in a range of colours, Hitex's ColourTex manual screed hot-applied coloured surfacing is the ideal solution for traffic calming and for areas such as bus lanes and busy trunk roads, and is also available in a cycleway grade.

Retro-reflective testing system for road markings

We offer high-speed performance monitoring through our Ecodyn surveying system, a Highways Agency approved process that is able to test retro-reflectivity of road markings to BSEN 1436. The latest software and GPS locating mapping capabilities of this system means maintenance strategies can be planned using highly accurate data.

Water-blasting road marking removal system

L&R is also now able to offer the Hydroblast, a water-blasting system that removes all types of durable traffic markings without causing any damage to the road surface. Removal is remarkably quick, clean and cost effective. The system can also be used to restore skid resistance levels and texture depth to suitable road surfaces.

Specialist installers

L&R Roadlines and Textureprint are independent contractors for:

  • Hitex road markings, high friction and coloured surfacing
  • Rainsafe wet night high-visibility road marking
  • TexPrint - a hot applied synthetic asphalt; the coloured surface material is imprinted with a repeating pattern, and typical uses include traffic calming schemes, raised junctions, urban regeneration projects, parking bays, central reservations and heritage areas
  • TexStone - a cold applied resin bonded decorative surfacing available in a wide range of textures and colours
  • TexBand
  • Retro reflective road studs
