WJ Linkline Group Ltd are now able to offer LGV training service to both Commercial Customers and to members of the general public wishing to obtain an LGV licence. We currently have two excellent dedicated training vehicles, one a Volvo FM9 and the other a DAF CF65. All training and subsequent LGV tests are carried out at the depot, with the practical driving element being conducted in the Newcastle area, a distinct advantage for local Driver’s.
Since October 2011 WJ Linkline Group has also been an approved CPC training centre delivering all our own training needs on site at the Newcastle under Lyme depot.
Since early 2013, WJ Linkline Group has been operating as a DSA approved LGV testing centre. Staff from all WJ Linkline Group depots across the country have been successfully passing their LGV test at the Newcastle under Lyme depot under the guidance of our DSA qualified LGV trainers.
The majority of our vehicles do not require an LGV licence as they are classed as Mobile plant vehicles and are therefore LGV licence exempt, however as part of WJ Linkline Group’s commitment to Road Safety all drivers of LGV’s are being put through the LGV course. Once an LGV licence is obtained, CPC regulations state that a Driver must undertake 35 hours of compulsory training every five years.
All LGV Driver Training is delivered on a one to one basis, guaranteeing a personal and quality service. We currently specialise in class 2 (Cat C) training only, but this is due to be extended to all forms of Driver training in the future.
New drivers now requiring an Initial CPC qualification, they can train and qualify for this qualification on site (usually done during the same week), with the CPC practical (Mod 4) test usually being conducted on the same day, eliminating the need for an extra visit to the test centre.
