ENCLOSURES FOR HIGHWAY COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT 

We provide a wide range of enclosures for highway communications equipment, including the Box 615, the Cabinet Type 600, the Cabinet Type 609 and the Telephone Housing 611D.

CABINET TYPE 600: EQUIPMENT ENCLOSURE

The Cabinet Type 600 equipment enclosure is manufactured in accordance with the latest Highways Agency drawings and specifications. Made from aluminium, this weatherproof cabinet is used for housing electronic equipment to suit various applications.

The cabinet is comprised of a power distribution unit, a heater / thermostat and a 19in rack transponder / responder frame. Standard plinth / skirt bases, which the cabinet can be bolted to, are also available.

CABINET TYPE 609: GALVANISED STEEL CABINET

This galvanised steel cabinet is manufactured to Highways Agency drawings and specifications. It consists of two internal compartments separated by a marine plywood backing board, with each compartment being accessible by a lift-off door.

The Cabinet Type 609 is used for various applications across the UK road network, such as electricity supply interfaces, power isolation and distribution.

Standard plinth / skirt bases, which the cabinet can be bolted to, are also available.

BOX 615 TO HOUSE CABLE TERMINATIONS

This Box 615 enclosure is manufactured to the latest Highways Agency specifications and consists of one internal compartment with a marine plywood backing board, accessible by a lift-off door.

The Box 615 is used to house cable terminations and it fits inside the Cabinet Type 609.

ALUMINIUM TELEPHONE HOUSING 611D

This aluminium telephone housing is manufactured to Highways Agency drawings and specifications. The SOS telephone housing can be supplied separately but it is also available with a choice of posts.

BRIDGE PARAPETS

The Protect 365™ bridge parapet is designed to stop vehicles, but it is also capable of absorbing the energy of a vehicle’s impact thus reducing the consequences on the occupant.

We can offer site surveys, manufacturing drawings and erection to complement our range of bridge parapets. Various finishes can be applied depending on the application and project requirements, although the galvanised finish can offer an expected lifespan of approximately 30 years.

ILLUMINATED ROAD STUDS

Illuminated road studs provide the ideal solution to traffic control and lane indication problems, having the ability to clearly identify the lane boundaries with a line of warning lights on the road surface.

The system is controlled by a remote power supply and monitoring system, enabling switching operations, failure detection and dimming facilities.

TUNNEL PANELS

Henry Williams is competent in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of emergency, distribution and ventilation panels.

These tunnel panels can house vital safety equipment such as emergency telephones and fire extinguishers. The panel construction is set to provide fire resistance for two hours, and the whole panel satisfies water and dust protection to IP66 level.

SIGNAL FRAMES AND POSTS

A matrix signal is used on the majority of motorways to display speed restrictions, lane restrictions, lane divert arrows, fog warnings and end messages. These can be both gantry-mounted and post-mounted.

The frames are supplied with target boards, and they are mounted using associated bracketry and ball and socket joints. Supporting posts are used to mount verge / central reservation signal frames, and can be supplied with mounting plinths and skirts if required.
