Highway Care - Road Restraint SystemsHighway Care provides a range of innovative road restraint systems designed to protect road workers and the travelling public. The systems also offer the benefit of reducing costs and increasing productivity for the user. All systems are approved for use and have been in use worldwide for many years. Vehicle-Mounted Sign (VMS) - PolVis The PolVis Mk II system is a fully approved lightweight warning sign designed for incident support units and highway patrolling units. It enables emergency services and maintenance contractors to improve safety and traffic control at road incidents. The PolVis can be deployed on the move, at low speed, allowing a warning sign or directional arrow to be displayed immediately, as that emergency vehicle approaches any incident. P4 Terminal - XTension The XTension P4 Terminal uses new tension technology which dissipates impact energy by tension rather than compression. The impact energy is smoothly transferred from the head unit into the tension cables, allowing superior post-impact vehicle control and redirection even with high-angle impacts. It provides a superior performance at moderate cost. Lorry-Mounted Crash Cushion Systems LorryGuard lorry-mounted crash cushion systems offer superior performance and reliability for high use customers. LorryGuard is fully tested and approved to NCHRP 350 TL3 (100km/h) and meets the requirements of Highways Agency Chapter 8 and TD49/07 for use on trunk roads and motorways. Lorry-mounted crash cushion systems are designed to mitigate the effects of a vehicle impacting a working maintenance vehicle. By gradually absorbing the energy of the impact the potential injuries to occupants of both vehicles are minimised and damage to the maintenance vehicle dramatically reduced or prevented. The lorry mounted crash cushion will also control the impact preventing secondary accidents. Speed ratings of 70km/h (45mph) and 100km/h (62mph). BarrierGuard 800 Temporary Steel Safety Barrier The BarrierGuard 800 steel barrier system can be used for both temporary and permanent locations. It has been approved to EN1317 Part 2 at N2 and H2 and NCHRP 350 TL4. The BarrierGuard 800 can be transported to the worksite on a truck carrying up to 216m and can be installed very quickly. This offers significant savings to the user over more traditional concrete barriers, such as:
QuickChange Moveable Barrier (QMB) The QuickChange moveable barrier is a barrier system for temporary and permanent installations, which is approved to EN1317 Part 2 at test levels N2 and H2. The system comprises a linked chain of individual concrete barrier units, which can be raised slightly from the road surface and moved across the carriageway by a transfer vehicle, allowing lane priority changes during road works and traffic tidal flows. The QuickChange moveable barrier system allows better phasing of road works and more intensive construction as a result of more construction space being available. Advantages of the system include:
BikeGuard Motorcycle Safety Barrier The BikeGuard is a high quality, light steel beam that can be attached to W-beam safety barriers and open box beam systems to improve the safety performance of these barriers when impacted by motorcyclists.
