TOLL SYSTEM INTEGRATION

The IRD iTOLL system includes comprehensive reporting and auditing systems. As IRD is a systems integrator, all of our toll systems can be designed and/or upgraded to include other ITS technologies. For example, a toll system may be integrated with Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) to provide valuable traffic weight data, to apply a surcharge to heavy vehicles (or a discount to light ones) or to notify enforcement officials of the identity of potentially overweight trucks.

Other system enhancements include Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) for automatic, non-stop tolling, smart card or magnetic card payment systems, closed tolling applications and video surveillance systems.

WEIGH-IN-MOTION (WIM)

International Road Dynamics Inc. Weigh-in-Motion scales are extremely accurate and durable. Their reputation for reliability and performance is a result of over 20 years of operational history with medium to high-speed enforcement screening and traffic data collection. IRD's WIM scales have been used in different applications including truck weigh stations, border crossings, and virtual weigh stations. With the acquisition of PAT GmbH traffic division, IRD has expanded its variety of scales to include portable weigh pads and the PAT Bending Plate.

The IRD Virtual Weigh Station System utilizes advanced Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) and video technology, providing departments of transportation and highway patrols with a cost effective tool to monitor and enforce truck weights on bypass or secondary routes. Based on the vehicle information, vehicles suspected of being overweight can be either stopped and weighed using portable scales or can be directed to the nearest weigh station for weighing, while allowing vehicles in compliance to continue on their way.

TRAFFIC DATA COLLECTION

IRD offers an array of traffic data collection tools including a full line of traffic counters and classifiers. These traffic counters and classifiers can be set up in a portable or a permanent setting and use a variety of sensors to suit different applications. Data collected from these portable and permanent traffic counters and classifiers can range from simple axle counts to full classification and Weigh-in-Motion.
