Econolite, in keeping with its rich tradition of providing quality products and superior customer service, today celebrates the approaching ten-year milestone of its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification (9001:2000). Satisfying the ISO 9000 criterion has enabled international status and has become a foundation for establishing quality management systems.
Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement are the building blocks of the ISO program, and an ongoing certification process is in place to ensure that guidelines are consistently being met. A company desiring ISO certification must be re-certified by an ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB)-accredited company every three years, with required surveillance audits. ISO Certification was originally granted to Econolite in January of 1998 and in 2003 the company received full certification of the newest standard, 9001:2000.
Econolite was awarded full re-certification in August 2006 by Moody International Certification, Inc., and successfully passed its subsequent two-day surveillance audit, which was conducted in March 2007. In the interest of excellence, Econolite strives to provide quality products and to repeatedly prove itself as a leader in customer care by acquiring and acting upon customer feedback and consistently refining its processes of continuous improvement.
Mike Pavy, Vice President of Quality Assurance for Econolite, comments: "We took our ISO Certification and used it as the seed for what bloomed into what we refer to as PCI, or our Process for Continuous Improvement. PCI includes Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, Concurrent Development, and customer service training.
