CellStack Systems Announces First Installation of the IP Version

Cambridge – February 10, 2004. Telindus owned CellStack Systems Ltd, leading providers of networked CCTV surveillance solutions to the transportation market, are pleased to announce the first deployment of the IP version of the CellStack Centauri V5.1 video hub.
As part of the company’s strategy to further develop CCTV solutions for the transportation market, CellStack Systems now offers the Centauri V5.1 video hub with either Gigabit Ethernet or ATM interfaces. CellStack Systems has focussed on the continuing improvements in IP technology, specifically in the area of QoS, and is now able to offer customers more choice for delivery of high quality, low latency video transmission, comparable to the real-time performance being achieved on ATM networks. The first deployment of the IP V5.1 is within an international conference and exhibition centre in China encompassing more than 200 cameras.
The modular design architecture of the CellStack Centauri V5.1 means that CellStack Systems can now offer customers a wider choice in terms of transmission and compression technologies without having to compromise on reliability and performance in critical CCTV applications. With a common management and control platform, such as the CellStack Integration Suite, CellStack products can be seamlessly integrated into a wider multi-service IT solution irrespective of which transmission medium or compression technology has been specified.
Featuring a Dual Gigabit interface, CellStack Centauri V5.1 offers a flexible approach to network design with connectivity to existing IP infrastructures or, using the in-built intelligence within the codec, connection in a ‘Ring’ or ‘Daisy Chain’ topology, thereby reducing the number of network devices required and associated cost. By offering a number of transmission and compression technologies, CellStack Systems can offer customers the flexibility to upgrade to future technologies and to integrate other applications onto the network. This flexibility, combined with the high system availability, reliability and redundancy currently offered in all CellStack Systems products, is crucial for those organisations where CCTV surveillance is business critical, such as airports and all types of transportation.
