New UTC Software launched

Three major new software solutions, including a completely new UTC system, have been launched by Microsense, part of the TSEU Group.
Strategic traffic management monitoring and control software provides a fully scaleable network monitoring and control tool for small towns, major arterial roads through to city-wide urban traffic control. This Linux-based fully scaleable UTC system performs a variety of operations from controlling a series of junctions to major metropolitan cities using its complex algorithms. Using variable fixed-time plans it can change plans in relation to KPIs as varied as traffic and environmental data. Key competitive advantages are the system has full simulation of new plans, review of problem areas / incidents, what-if? scenarios, and reduced communication costs versus SCOOT and other systems.
Our new remote monitoring instation / outstation software and hardware provides a simple and flexible method to monitor the status of equipment on the street using an outstation and dedicated instation software. Key competitive advantages of this IP-based system are that it works on a wide range of controllers, can report all traffic data and offers advanced user interfaces. It can also remotely report specific fault types automatically.
Our new Sentinel controller emulation software provides a PC-based design tool to allow quick and efficient verification of Sentinel-controlled installations. It allows fast changes to junction design as site works progress, and can demonstrate improvements in traffic throughputs and reductions in congestion before / after simulation. Key competitive advantages are simulation of traffic control using different modes including MOVA and traffic flow simulation at up to 12 times real-time.
