ELECTRICAL IMAGING FOR GEOTECHNICAL STUDY AND GEOLOGICAL MAPPINGA major advantage of this method is that it produces continuous images of the variation in properties in the subsurface. Electrical imaging can serve as an excellent basis for planning detailed investigations via, for example, a drilling and sampling programme with optimised sampling locations. The detailed investigation results can then in turn be used as a base for a refined interpretation of the electrical imaging data, leading to a comprehensive and reliable model of the underground. SEISMIC SURVEYING SYSTEMSSeismic surveying, one of the most effective ways to explore rock and subsoil, is ideal for finding ground water, oil and useful minerals. ABEM produces several products that ensure optimal seismic surveying. ABEM's Terraloc Mark 6 seismograph has been especially designed for the full spectrum of shallow seismic applications, whilst the high-resolution remote seismic acquisition system is intended for shallow refraction, 2D and 3D reflection surveys. This system combines 24-bit A/D performance in a 24-channel box that is controlled by a standard laptop. ABEM's SeisOpt @2D is an easy-to-use refraction interpretation and survey design software solution for seismic data. VIBRATION MONITORSABEM produces several vibration monitoring products. The ABEM UVS 600 is ideal for remotely and reliably recording 1-component peak particle velocity, acceleration and displacement over long periods in harsh environments. The VIBRALOC monitors and analyses vibrations and air shock waves.
