Term: Video Image Registration

Definition:

Video Image Registration (VIR) takes images from standard CCTV cameras and stores them in a database. When triggered by an event such as an access request for a parking facility, the images are captured and forwarded to the related software application (e.g. a car parking system). An operator can verify these images of vehicles, people or environments against the existing ones.
