Dubai Road Transportation Authority (RTA) has awarded Phase I and Phase 2 contracts of the Expo Roads Improvement Project, which includes the refurbishment of Expo roads in Dubai to enable smooth traffic flow during Expo 2020.

The project is estimated to cost approximately AED1.36bn ($370m).

The first and second phases of the project will involve the development of new bridges, conversion of Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road to a six-lane road, and associated works.

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded a $4m contract to Michael Baker International for the reduction of traffic congestion on the southern gateway corridor in Dallas County.

Micher Baker will be responsible for the testing and inspection, construction management and auditing of the project.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2021.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded an Rs8.82bn ($138.5m) contract to Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra) for the conversion of NH-2 in Bihar into a six-lane road.

RInfra will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the project.

The company will be responsible to extend the six-lane highway in Bihar from 189km to 249.5km and build new bridges across the highway.
