Parking payment services provider Parkmobile USA has introduced its new service at all Downtown Kalamazoo parking meters in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Residents, businesses and visitors to the city can now pay for parking through Parkmobile’s mobile smartphone app. Users must enter the zone number listed on the meter and pay with their credit card, debit card, PayPal or Parkmobile Wallet.

Users can complete online registration at the company’s official website, and set up an account with which they can immediately start using the system with the registered phone.

Motorists will have an option to receive alerts and reminders through the app 15 minutes before the expiry of their parking sessions.

Parkmobile USA CEO Cherie Fuzzell said: "This technology offers customers an alternative way to pay for parking. Our mobile payment service is an example of another technology that can make our lives easier and more efficient."

Kalamazoo marks the tenth city in Michigan that offers the Parkmobile mobile payment solution. It follows Dearborn, Grand Rapids, Petoskey, Traverse City, Mount Clemens, South Haven, Grosse Point, Ferndale and Birmingham. The service is also available on Western Michigan University campus.
