Rhythm Engineering installs real-time adaptive traffic system in the US

16 September 2011

US-based Rhythm Engineering has installed its InSync real-time adaptive traffic control system at 500 intersections in 13 states across the country.

The InSync system gives traffic signals artificial intelligence to adapt to traffic demand moment by moment, helping prevent traffic jams and accidents, cutting drivers travel time up to 50%, and reducing vehicles' fuel use and emissions by 20-30%.

According to the company, InSync can reduce the number of times drivers have to stop at red lights on busy roads by 90%, decreases travel times and reduces crashes.

The company has reached the 500-intersection milestone in just a few years by partnering with several states in the US from California to New York.
