Chinese Firm Wins $450m Polish Highway Contract

China Railway Group has won a $450m contract in Poland for work on the ongoing A-2 highway project.

Work involves construction of segment A and segment C of the highway.

The contract has been awarded to the company's subsidiaries China Overseas Engineering Group and China Railway Tunnel Group among others.

The A-2 highway will run from west to east from the Polish-German border through central Poland to the Polish-Belarusian border.

Once complete, the highway will complete a 358km motorway section on Poland's main East-West transport axis run providing a modern highway connection between several major Polish cities, including Poznan, Lodz and Konin.
