Portable satellite navigation manufacturer Garmin has teamed up with software provider Navtrak to provide real-time vehicle tracking, fleet management solutions and job scheduling to fleet owners and managers.
Navtrak’s Adobe Flex-based software can dispatch jobs directly to a driver's Garmin device, view updates of drivers' estimated time of arrival and departure, create and assign jobs and check the status of the jobs.
The US-based firm claims its navigation and job scheduling features offer commercial fleet customers a robust and easy-to-use job scheduling, dispatching and routing service in one seamless application.
The solutions would help fleet operators to improve response times, optimise fleet resources, and achieve lower costs, according to Navtrak.
