ABB is to launch its Terra HP High Power Charge system for electric vehicles (EVs) at service stations and rest areas.

ABB said that its new 150kW-350kW Terra HP system has the capacity to charge both 400V and 800V cars at full power.

With Dynamic DC power sharing technology, Terra HP enables a two-power cabinet charging system for two EVs simultaneously with up to 350kW and 500A. It can also dynamically optimise the grid connection and power delivery to the two vehicles.

ABB Electric global business for vehicle charging head Frank Mühlon said: “We are committed to supporting the expansion of electric vehicle charging systems across the globe to drive cleaner environments.

“Creating innovative state-of-the-art and energy efficient solutions, which are scalable to expand and flex with our customers’ needs is at the heart of ABB’s philosophy.”

Terra HP also offers additional benefits for consumers, including an easy-to-use touchscreen display and multiple payment options.

The system provides additional benefits such as ABB Ability Connected Services for charging operators.

The new product will be unveiled at the Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS30) in Stuttgart, Germany, from 9 to 11 October.
