Axxès and Kapsch TrafficCom have announced that they intend to work together in the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) domain.

Axxès has been providing intelligent, reliable toll collection systems for paying European tolls using a single on-board unit and a single subscription.

Kapsch TrafficCom has been catering to market needs with its intelligent transportation systems (ITS) in the segments of toll collection, city access control and parking space management, traffic management, traffic monitoring, and V2X cooperative systems.

"Both companies have expressed their intention for a long-term partnership in order to offer a better and wider range of services to both road users and operators."

Both companies have expressed their intention for a long-term partnership in order to offer a better and wider range of services to both road users and operators.

They have been working together for many years on a wide range of projects such as the Viapass Kilometer Charge for trucks of over 3.5 tonnes in Belgium.

The solution introduced by these companies was the first to be successfully certified as EETS, which commenced operation in April last year.

Axxès serves a fleet of 200,000 trucks equipped with a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) solution that was developed by Kapsch TrafficCom.

Axxès and Kapsch are willing to work together and address the new toll domains opened to the EETS Market in the near future, starting with Germany and Italy.

Both the companies anticipate that their partnership will be beneficial to the mobility of the end users and an incentive to the ETS market in Europe.
