The third phase of the 265km Batinah Expressway project in Oman has attracted 15 bidders following the floating of bids on 5 October.

The bidders include Strabag Oman, Larsen & Toubro (Oman), Turkish company Makyol Gulf, UAE-based Al Naboodah, Galfar and Turkish company Sezai Turkes-Feyzi Akkaya.

The third phase of the project involves construction of 43km of highway between Suwaiq and Khabourah, which runs parallel to the existing Batinah Highway.

The project also involves construction of five overpasses and four bridges and five interchanges linking up with Khadra al Sa’ad, Khabourah and Hafeet roundabouts on the existing Batinah Highway.

After completion, Batinah Expressway will offer the fastest route to the UAE.
