The California Transportation Commission (CTC) in the US has allocated $333m to fund 91 transportation projects in order to improve the state’s transportation system and strengthen its economy.

The latest allocations comprise $233m from Proposition 1B, a transportation bond approved by voters in 2006, and the remaining $100m from assorted transportation accounts funded by state and federal dollars. In total, nearly $15bn in Proposition 1B funds have been distributed across the state.

Caltrans director Malcolm Dougherty said that investing in the state’s transportation infrastructure creates a better future for all Californians.

In San Bernadino, a total of $60.48m has been allocated for transportation improvements in San Bernardino Associated Governments (Sanbag)/County of San Bernardino; and Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC)/City of Corona.

Other local projects include improvements in San Bernardino Associated Governments (Sanbag)/Community of Sugarloaf; San Bernardino Associated Governments(Sanbag)/Town of Yucca Valley; San Bernardino Associated Governments(Sanbag)/City of Highland; and Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC).

In Marysville, $26.28m has been allocated for projects in Sacramento, El Dorado, Sierra, Nevada, Glenn and Sutter Counties.

Funds of $10.33m have been approved in Oakland to develop transportation in City of Richmond; Town of Hillsborough; Town of Colma; Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, MTC; 04-San Francisco, 04-San Mateo, 04-Santa Clara; Sonoma SR -1; City of Concord; and Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority, MTC, 04-Alameda and Santa Clara counties.

Districts of Fresno, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, San Diego and Stockton were also allocated fund of $12.38m, $2.5m, $53.5m, $646,000, $30.9m and $84.62m respectively, for a variety of transportation improvement projects.
