CDOT plans to invest $20m in 2017 to ease traffic congestions and improve safety of commuters by implementing the latest technologies.

As per the three-year contract, Atkins along other two consulting firms will advise CDOT for all the RoadX programme activities.

Atkins and other consultants will serve as extended staff to CDOT and help it to move projects foward from conception through procurement to construction stage.

RoadX will be following multipronged deployment, operations, innovation, technology (DO-IT) approach for delivering an efficient and flexible transportation technology.

From 2016-18, the programme is expected to deploy technology that will cut down the cost of transporting goods by 25%, turn a rural state highway into a zero-death road and ease congestion on the state’s key corridors.
