Hindustan Construction (HCC), in joint venture with VNR Infrastructures and Germany-based DSD Brouckenbau, has won a Rs9.8bn ($187.6m) contract from Indian Rail to build Bogibeel rail-road bridge across Brahmaputra river near Dibrugarh in state of Assam.

The double-deck bridge will span 4.315 km, allowing a three-lane road on the upper deck and construction of two railway tracks on the lower deck.

The three-lane road level will be built 10.5m over the rail tracks.

Out of the total contact, HCC will share 51%, while DSD Brouckenbau will have a share of 20%; the remaining 29% will be owned by VNR Infrastructures.

Work on the bridge is expected to be complete in four years.
