HERE, an Open Location Platform company, has announced that it will provide map content for Baidu Maps outside of China to support its recent expansion of coverage to Europe and the rest of the world.

The company has been providing its map content for Baidu Maps’ desktop and mobile services in South East Asia for the past two years. Now, it has extended to more than 150 countries worldwide.

Baidu Maps are being used by more than 350 million active users across the globe, and it is expanding its map service to accommodate Chinese visitors to Europe and other parts of the world outside of Asia, to meet the increasing demand for high-quality map data across the globe.

Baidu Maps includes features such as local search, travel information, bookings, and reviews, both inside and outside of China.

HERE has mapped nearly 200 countries and makes changes to its map on a day-to-day basis using data collected from vehicles, cartographers, and tens of thousands of other sources.
