Austria-based Kapsch TrafficCom is showcasing its new V2X traffic management solution at the ongoing ITS World Congress summit from 7-11 September in Detroit, US.

The V2X system allows communication between vehicles and the roadside infrastructure, in order to exchange information on the current traffic situation.

Data collected by the system is then displayed on devices, including tablets and PCs, and therefore prevents the occurrence of traffic accidents.

"Our integration with Transdyn and our collaboration with Autofind have made it possible for us to further reinforce our position."

Information on speed limits, detours, traffic jams and accidents are displayed within the vehicle, allowing the driver to take prompt action.

The V2X solution is based on 5.9GHz dedicated short-range communication (DSRC), a two-way, short-range wireless technology that is designed especially for moving objects such as vehicles.

Kapsch TrafficCom CEO Georg Kapsch said: "Our share of revenue coming from North and South America grew from 12% to 18% to reach the current €87m."

The company will also showcase its new back office architecture for all kinds of toll collection systems, including electronic, manual, microwave or satellite technology.

Kapsch added: "Our integration with Transdyn, a manufacturer of modern traffic management software programmes and traffic management systems, and our collaboration with Autofind in Brazil, has made it possible for us to further reinforce our position."
