Kansas City Scout provides real-time transportation information to the motorists in the Kansas City metropolitan area in order to help them in navigating along optimal routes.

Kapsch TrafficCom North America senior vice-president NAM & Tolling Alfredo Escriba said: “We are proud of this contract extension with Kansas City Scout because it demonstrates our TMC operations expertise and the excellence of our day-to-day services provided to both the Kansas and Missouri Departments of Transportation.”

Kansas City Scout manages nearly 125m of highway road in Kansas City metropolitan area through cameras to observe live traffic, sensors to gauge traffic flow, and electronic message boards along the roadway to send notices to drivers.

These components encompass a system that streamlines the traffic by optimising rush-hour speeds, improve emergency response to traffic incidents, and decrease congestion by improving traffic flow.
