Norwegian Roads Administration has appointed NCC to build a new section of the E18 Expressway between Hobøl and Ski municipalities 30km south of Oslo.

The new contract comprises 6.25km of highway and is worth SEK885m ($134.6m).

The project involves a four-lane highway, ten bridges, concrete structures along the highway section, reinforcement of County Road 120, along with various improvements of roads and water and sewage systems in Hobøl.

"This is an interesting project for NCC."

With this agreement, the company now has three projects in progress on the E18 Expressway, allowing it to strengthen its position in large-scale infrastructure projects around the Oslo fjord, NCC noted.

NCC Construction Norway business area manager Håkon Tjomsland said: "This is an interesting project for NCC, in which we will utilise strategic competencies from both Norway and Sweden."

The project aims to have the least possible environmental impact, and is scheduled to be completed during September 2016.

It will be executed in line with NCC’s green construction concept, using sustainable solutions

The order will be registered in the first quarter of 2014, and will be equally divided between NCC Construction Norway and CC Construction Sweden.
