The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Philippines has started the bidding process and procurement activities for the 7.74km extension of Plaridel Bypass Road Project from Bustos to San Rafael, Bulacan.

The project currently includes two contract packages, known as Packages 3 and 4. Construction on Package 3 started in July.

The two contract packages are part of Phase 2 of Arterial Road Bypass Project, which is funded by the Philippine Government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Package 4 will see the construction of a portland concrete cement pavement with a carriageway of 7m and a 2.50m shoulder on both sides.

In addition, two single span prestressed deck girder bridges will be built on seat-type abutments and a precast concrete pile foundation.

The inspection and site visit for Package 4 is scheduled for 18-19 September, before the pre-bid conference on 29 September and the public bid on 20 October.

The entire project is worth PHP1.204bn ($27.5m) and being supervised by engineers of DPWH Roads Management Cluster (RMC) I – Bilateral, Unified Project Management Office (UPMO).
