CH2M, a global construction company, has secured a contract from the General Directorate for National Roads and Highways in Wroclaw, Poland, to conduct a feasibility study for the expanding National Road No.8 between Wroclaw and Klodzko along with construction of bypasses.

The contract is reported to be the largest design project awarded by the General Roads Directorate in Lower Silesia region in Poland.

As per the deal, CH2M will be responsible to develop a corridor study, feasibility study (STES), as well as a create a conceptual design for the selected best option, and adjusting the model Functional and Utility Programme for this 70km long roadway.

For developing the feasibility study, CH2M will be evaluating various options based on technical, economic and environmental factors throughout the project location, and will also include traffic analysis to develop an optimal design version of the route.

General Directorate for National Roads and Highways anticipates that the expansion of National Road No.8, would improve travel times for the commuters travelling on this route.

Currently, CH2M is also carrying out corridor and feasibility studies for potential reconstruction on National Road No.75.
