Romania is expected to complete the €450m Bucharest-Ploiesti highway project by 2012, which will connect the Romanian capital Bucharest to the Ploiesti city.

The highway will stretch 62km and the project is being carried out in two sections.

The first phase spans from Bucharest to Moara Vlasiei and will be constructed by the Italian consortium of Impressa Pizzarotti and Tirrena Scavi.

The second section from Moara Vlasiei to Ploiesti will be built by the Spedition UMB/Pa&Co International/Euroconstruct ’98/Com-Axa association, according to romania-insider.com.
