Scoot Networks, a US-based company that offers shared, light electric vehicle (LEV) services, has expended its presence across the globe by introducing its Scoot Mobility Operating System (Scoot MOS), a platform for shared LEV services in densely populated cities.

The company will be partnering with the top manufacturers in the LEV space, including Renault-Nissan and Mahindra GenZe, and will be introducing its system across new cities in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Mahindra GenZe chief marketing officer Tom Valasek said: "As consumers move towards cleaner, more efficient transportation options, demand is swelling for our fully-electric scooters, particularly in traffic-stressed cities.

"Scoot MOS provides our fleet customers with a swift, seamless model to grow their business in the biggest metros around the world."

"That's the market opportunity that we're seizing with Scoot.

Launched in 2012 in San Francisco, Scoot developed first shared LEV service, serving thousands of riders in the region.

The company claims that it has registered more than three million kilometers on Scoot's clean, electric fleet, eliminating 783 metric tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.

Scoot intends to rollout its Scoot MOS across major cities in the world by collaborating with the local partners and providing a solution for the urban traffic congestion.

The companies will be able to take benefit from Scoot's wide-ranging operating experience as well as from the Scoot MOS platform, while also gaining access to world-class LEVs including: the Renault Twizy electric quadracycle, the Mahindra GenZe 2.0 electric scooter, the GOVECS T Series cargo scooter, and the emco electric scooter.
