Smart Parking, a global company that designs and develops parking technology, is set to deliver its smart parking solution at the Bunjil Place precinct in Casey city, Melbourne, Australia.

As part of this project, Smart Parking will deploy 904 of Smart Parking’s vehicle detection sensors that will be used for monitoring parking space availability.

Smart Parking national sales manager Ben Williams said: “Smart Parking are delighted to be working with the City of Casey to provide our leading-edge technology.

“Our parking solution will make it easier for Casey residents and visitors to locate a parking space and will contribute to the positive experience of visiting the Bunjil Place precinct.”

The sensors will be used to monitor parking space availability, including mobility bays, which is displayed on variable message signs at the car parks entrances. The signs will provide direction indicators to help the driver there.

Smart Parking’s SmartSpot Gateways will be linked to the sites mobile network and will serve as the central communication unit, which will collect data from the sensors through wireless communication and then transmit it to the SmartCloud parking services system.

Smart Parking’s analytics tool and dashboard, SmartRep, will provide a real-time view of how the smart car park and its infrastructure are being used.

City of Casey Strategic Mayor Sam Aziz said: “Not only will the technology assist visitors to our Bunjil Place precinct in finding a suitable parking space, but the use of reporting data will also allow us to analyse individual parking bay usage, traffic flows and peak usage periods.

“Integrating this technology will provide us with significant future opportunities to continue on our journey in becoming a Smart City.”
