Stockland, an Australian construction company, has completed the first stage of Bells Creek Arterial Road, which serves as the new gateway to Aura, which is reported to be Australia’s largest master-planned city.

The arterial road will be built in two stages and the first stage included construction of 2.8km section of the road, extending south from the Caloundra Road and Kawana Way Roundabout.

The Australian company further explained that the final road safety and compliance assessment will be made by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, before being officially opened to traffic.

Stockland Queensland general manager Kingsley Andrew said: “We are very proud to officially unveil the first stage of Bells Creek Arterial Road on schedule, as promised.

“This is the most significant piece of infrastructure to be delivered by Stockland at Aura to date and a huge milestone for this rapidly growing community, perfectly timed to coincide with the first residents starting to move in.

“This new road will help to alleviate traffic congestion on Bellvista Boulevard, as well as improve the everyday convenience and quality of life for current and future residents and visitors to the Aura, Bells Reach and Bellvista communities.”

For the construction of first stage of the road, Stockland has invested $30m ($22.8m) and anticipates that the first stage of construction works would provide an access road to existing communities as well as would serve as main access into Aura’s first suburb of Baringa.

The new arterial road is expected to reduce travel times and also improve the local community’s access to the health, commercial and education centres.

In addition to arterial road, Stockland has built a dual-purpose bike and walking path that will connect to a growing network of paths within Aura, linking homes with local schools and the first village centre at Baringa.
