A road toll reporting functionality has been developed by TomTom Business Solutions to help transport companies achieve improved cost transparency for all European routes.

An addition to TomTom’s range of applications designed specifically for the transport sector, WEBFLEET truck toll reporting offers a real-time breakdown of the toll costs during each trip, helping transport companies to better manage expenses while providing customers with transparent invoices.

This functionality accounts for all applicable national tolls in countries including France, Germany, Austria and Slovakia along with the proposed French Ecotaxe, reporting on the carbon emissions for each trip and estimating the total costs.

TomTom Business Solutions managing director Thomas Schmidt said: "Cost management is crucial for transport companies who are operating on tight profit margins.

"TomTom’s latest feature provides actionable data that enables businesses to demonstrate precisely where and when toll charges have been incurred, vital particularly if these costs are to be passed on to the customer."

The functionality also includes connectivity with the truck’s FMS interface for comprehensive diagnostics reporting with the ability to send pre-defined routes to a driver’s navigation device.

Meanwhile, WEBFLEET Tachograph Manager supports remote and manual download, in addition to archiving and analysing tachograph data.

TomTom’s fleet management solution can be integrating with the route-planning software, as well as a host of other office applications, and is now available as a paid add-on to TomTom’s standard WEBFLEET platform.
