TomTom, a provider of navigation, traffic and map products, has launched a truck trip planning facility on TomTom MyDrive.

This service will enable truck drivers to plan a route to any destination at anytime.

Truck drivers can customise their routes by selecting preferred roads and stops and sync it with the TomTom Trucker navigation device.

"MyDrive enables drivers to plan a multi-stop route based on their truck’s particular size, weight, cargo and speed."

TomTom Consumer co-founder and managing director Corinne Vigreux said: "The innovative combination of truck-specific routing, with insanely accurate TomTom Traffic information, is designed to help save time and increase efficiency.

"Drivers will know the best time to depart, so when they get in their vehicle, they’re ready to go."

MyDrive enables drivers to plan a multi-stop route based on their truck’s particular size, weight, cargo and speed.

Drivers can also add favourite fuel and rest stops, as well as community points of interest.

Speed camera alerts and real-time traffic are shown, helping drivers to complete their deliveries on time.

The TomTom MyDrive app is available on iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded through Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Founded in 1991 in Amsterdam, Tom Tom sells its products worldwide and has 4,600 employees.
